ImageAngklung Caruk is kind of Banyuwangi's Traditional arts. Quite different than Angklung, Angklung caruk is collaboration Angklung and other music instrument. Angklung is a kind of musical instrument made of bamboo, and caruk means fighting or competition. Angklung caruk ensemble, however, does not consist of bamboo instrument only, but also includes some metal (iron or bronze)bar instruments. It is called angklung caruk because the leading instrument of the ensemble is angklung, and they perform in pairs as a competition (caruk). Banyuwangi people use this kind of performing art to celebrate social events of the society.

ImageSeblang Bakungan is a ceremony of countryside hallowing. This ceremony doing one night after Idul Adha (an Islamic holiday). Intention of this ceremony is refuse the balak (evil), by performing at the night, after magrib (sunset). Every people make the tumpeng and pecel pitik. Event opened by Oncor Parade (Oncor is a like candle from bamboo with petrol as a fuel) around trip thru the countryside. This activity called Ider Bumi (Ider=arround/trip, Bumi=earth).

ImageKuntulan is collaboration between music and dance influenced by islamic tradition. Kuntulan music develpment from percusi, called Terbang. The Kuntulan performance is often called Terbang Kuntul. This traditional music performance is similiar to Bordah, but the number of the musical instruments is more complete, including the kendang,  jedor, gong and organ. The name of Kuntulan is taken from the fact that the dancers wear white clothes like the kuntul (type of bird).
