ImageSego Tempong is a traditional food from banyuwangi, East Java, Indonesia. It is rice completed by tofu, soya bean, salted fish and fried eggplant. It is also completed by boiled vegetable.Then its special characteristic can be found in its hot and fresh of shrimp paste. It is called "tempong" or in Indonesian is "tempeleng" (slap) because after eating Sego Tempong, it seems like you are being slapped because of the taste.

Some people add petai (beans with pungent odor) on the condiment. It is very delicious to eat especially when it is completed by its condiment, fried soya bean and tofu that is very tempting your appetite.

Therefore, you should try this food when you visit Banyuwangi.
