Fetisov, Meanwhile Signed A Memorandum Of Understanding (mou) For Russian Assistance For Indonesia`s Efforts To Improve Its Performance In Sports. Fourth Agreement Concerned The Promotion And Protection Of Russian Investment In Indonesia, Signed By Chief Of The Investment Coordinating Board (bkpm) Mohammad Lutfi And His Russian Counterpart V.g Savalyev. Fifth Agrrement, Two Countries Also Agreed To Cooperate In Fighting Terrorism, With The Agreement Inked By Director General Of American And European Affairs Of The Indonesian Foreign Ministry Eddi Hariyadi And His Russian Counterpart A. Losyukov. Sixth Agreement Dealt With Cooperation In The Extension Of Russian Loans To The Indonesian Government, Signed By Director General Of Debt Management At The Indonesian Finance Ministry Rahmar Waluyanto And His Russian Counterpart A.a. Storchack, Antara Added. Seventh Agreement Concerned Culture And Cinematography For The 2008-2010 Period, Inked By Secretary General Of The Indonesian Ministry Of Culture And Tourism Sapta Nirwandar And Russian Ambassador To Indonesia Alexander Ivanov. Eighth Cooperation Agreement Was Related To The Technical Procedures Of Placing And Managing Indonesia`s Credit Budget, Signed By Director General Of Debt Management Of The Indonesian Finance Ministry Rahmar Waluyanto And His Russian Counterpart, A.a. Storchak, Antara Said. My talk with President Putin was constructive and we hope that after his visit here, relations and partnership between Indonesia and Russia will grow," Indonesian President Susuilo Bambang Yudhoyono said at a joint press conference with Putin at the State Palace. The press conference followed a bilateral meeting between the two countries` delegations and the signing of eight cooperation agreements between the two countries in various fields. For his part, Putin said it was important for Russia to develop cooperation with Indonesia in various sectors because Indonesia was one of the world`s most dynamic countries and influential in the Asia Pacific. President Yudhoyono said the two countries had agreed to increase cooperation in the fields of investment, trade and energy. "The value of two countries` bilateral trade now stands at US$700 million and we have agreed to increase it to US$1 billion soon," he said. Russia agreed to invest US$4 billion in bauxite, aluminium and oil and gas mining in Indonesia. Moscow also agreed to extend a loan of US$1 billion to help modernize the weaponry of Indonesia`s army, navy and air force. The two countries also agreed to continue their cooperation in tourism. |
